About Ryan

Born and raised in Stratford, I’ve lived in neighbourhoods across the city — Devon Street, Elgin Crescent, McQueen Court in Queensland, and now Avonwood — giving me a lifelong connection to the people and places that make Stratford home. I’m running for City Council because Stratford families deserve fair, predictable taxes and responsible long‑term planning. In 2026, Stratford’s residential tax rate is more than sixteen percent higher than Orillia’s, a city similar in size. That gap matters, and it’s time for council to take a closer, more disciplined look at how we plan, spend, and prepare for the future.

For more than ten years, I’ve served as president of my condominium corporation, overseeing 30‑year reserve fund plans, capital projects, and financial forecasting. That experience taught me how to balance today’s needs with tomorrow’s obligations — and how to make decisions that protect homeowners rather than surprise them. I believe Stratford needs that same level of foresight and accountability at City Hall.

Stratford is home to a uniquely diverse workforce — from white‑collar professionals to blue‑collar tradespeople, from the culinary scene to auto manufacturing, from tourism and hospitality to technical and professional services. Few cities our size have such a rich mix of talent and industry. To keep that uniqueness alive, we need to strengthen our fall and winter economy, encourage responsible growth, and attract more professional‑type businesses. The closure of Scotiabank’s mortgage centre in the Wright Business Park is a reminder that we must stay proactive in supporting and retaining employers who contribute to Stratford’s year‑round economic stability.

People who know me describe me as honest, forward‑thinking, empathetic, and realistic. I’m a team player who listens first, solves problems with a level head, and understands that Stratford doesn’t have the same resources as larger cities like Waterloo Region, London, or Toronto. That means we must be thoughtful, strategic, and responsible with every dollar — focusing on what truly matters to residents and what we can realistically achieve.

My goal is simple: to give Stratford residents confidence that their city is being managed responsibly, openly, and with long‑term vision. I want you to feel reassured that your concerns are heard and that your tax dollars are being used wisely.

And yes — I’m a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. So I know a thing or two about patience.
